24, Jindal House, Delhi

This is the adaptive reuse of an existing structure in the Lutyen style of architecture. This house was redeigned for a client was a patron of the arts and involved several social and environmental initiatives. The client wished to retain the colonial character of the house while strengthning it structurally. The roof and walls were supported indeppendently, while the foundation slab was cut, recast and restored. The project had to be completed within six months and adapting the old structure to modern usage and restoration without demolition was crucial to its design.
